> Mould, Mildew & Fungal GrowthMould or mildew growth can be an unsightly and unhealthy presence around your home. The reason why it occurs, is usually because of elevated and persistent moisture content and a lack of enough direct sunlight. Even if there is plenty of sunlight and good air flow, nutrients and moist air may allow fungal growth to prevail.
How can fungal growth be controlled?Regular or periodic cleaning and treating with Aqualis No Fungal Pro, is an effective way to manage mould and fungal growth. This can be DIY or part of a regular, scheduled CDR maintenance program. That may include; thorough cleaning with our scrubbing machines and re-coating or oiling, to keep your asset well maintained. Both timber (wooden) - and composite decks, require regular re-sealing, re-coating or re-oiling for effective longevity. | Variations in temperature affect deck or decking materials. Whether your deck or balcony is composite or wood, there will be expansion and contraction effecting the surface of the decking boards. While deck coatings are designed to be flexible to allow for this, they will eventually dry out and break down with heat, UV light, rain and abrasives contained in dirt and airborne particles. This will result in moisture and UV light causing deterioration of all types of deck and decking products. In the case of timber or wooden decks, dry rot may set in because of the timber repeatedly being wet and then subsequently drying out again. That is why old, flaky coating may need to be removed, the surface thoroughly cleaned and neutralised, and a fresh application of decking oil or deck coating applied. In the case of composite decks and composite decking boards, oxidation and a dry, powdery surface will eventually result, because the protective surface layer has been broken down by weathering. Aqualis Coatings produce an excellent range of high-quality composite deck sealers and preparation treatment products which you may purchase through Coast Deck Restorations. |
